Persons in this position are responsible for helping to provide continued and uninterrupted access to FMC’s corporate data. This includes maintaining system availability and data security at all times. They are also responsible for making sure that our corporate systems and databases meet or exceed any service level metrics that are in place.


This position requires the technical ability and knowledge to implement, understand, support and maintaining our existing core applications and infrastructure. That includes ERP, BW/BI, SRM, CRM, BPC, HCM, Enterprise Portal, GRC, PI and Solution Manager.


    • Manage, monitor, tune, troubleshoot and resolve application issues on all SAP instance pipelines, related applications and operating systems.
    • Install Support Package Stacks, Enhancement Packages, move transports through the system pipelines via TMS, SDM, JSPM and Portal tools.
  • Provide SAP Application, Database and Operating system support as defined by the Technical Applications and Infrastructure Manager and managed to the service level agreements we have in place with the businesses.


  • Plan and manage application, database or operating system upgrades and their related activities to ensure that service levels, objectives and schedules are met.
  • Work with data center operations to design and implement controls for new technologies, systems and their supporting infrastructure to ensure systems are available and recoverable in accordance with our service level agreements.
  • Document processes and procedures and communicate them to the Basis team, and internal and external IT customers.
  • Work with the Technical Applications and Infrastructure Manager to ensure our systems are available and secure on a 7X24 hour basis.

Required Education


B.S. or M.S. in computer science or equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.



Required Experience:


  • Minimum 7-10 years overall experience in the Information Technology Field
  • At least 5 years of large scale SAP applications administration, performance tuning and disaster planning and recovery
  • At least 5 years of relational database design, maintenance, performance tuning, upgrading and administering
  • At least 5 years SAP Basis and operating system support in Windows environments
  • At least 5 years SAP Basis support in ECC 6.0 / Netweaver 7.0 environments including transport management, patching and version upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and migrating large scale SAP enterprise wide applications and databases to new platforms and versions


  • Demonstrated strong SAP Java Stack hands on experience
  • Demonstrated ability in project planning and execution
