Overview

FMC Corporation has an opening for a Transfer Pricing Manager to help drive global transfer pricing planning, execution, reporting, and controversy management. The Transfer Pricing Manager will be a member of FMC’s Global Tax team and work on all aspects of FMC’s intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate must be comfortable partnering with business operations within the organization to develop and promote the implementation of cross-functional transfer pricing models that reflect business operations, optimize tax efficiency, and adequately mitigate risks. Therefore, the position requires the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful to non-tax professionals, as well as employ strong project management capabilities. Accordingly, the Transfer Pricing Manager will directly liaise with regional and business unit professionals to provide transfer pricing guidance on intercompany transactions and collaborate effectively with applicable key stakeholders within Global Tax, Corporate Finance, and other lines of business to facilitate the accurate and timely implementation of transfer pricing strategies. The role will also include managing the preparation of various types of documentation, including BEPS-compliant CbC, local, and master files, to support controlled transactions undertaken by the Companyresponsibilities will focus around the global operations of the company’s three primary businesses.

 

Therefore, the position requires the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful to non-tax professionals, as well as employ strong project management capabilities. Accordingly, the Transfer Pricing Manager will directly liaise with regional and business unit professionals to provide transfer pricing guidance on intercompany transactions and collaborate effectively with applicable key stakeholders within Global Tax, Corporate Finance, and other lines of business to facilitate the accurate and timely implementation of transfer pricing strategies. The role will also include managing the preparation of various types of documentation, including BEPS-compliant CbC, local, and master files, to support controlled transactions undertaken by the Companyresponsibilities will focus around the global operations of the company’s three primary businesses..

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a management team to conduct end-to-end management of transfer pricing projects, including IP migration, cost sharing, allocation of R&D spend, while partnering with outside consultants and internal business leaders, distilling significant amounts of data and selecting appropriate implementation strategies on a worldwide basis
  • Review contemporaneous, audit-ready transfer pricing reports for all legal entities, such that they comply with relevant transfer pricing requirements and support positions reliable enough to withstand questioning under audit by taxing authorities
  • Assist with the integration and harmonization of transfer pricing policies across any acquired or merged lines of business
  • Review economic analyses to benchmark the arm’s length nature of global intercompany transactions and provide insight on applicability to the functional profile of legal entities, defensibility and any warranted adjustments
  • Independently review and, as necessary, perform testing on the intercompany transactions to determine whether adjustments should be made to the transfer prices and ensure such changes are executed accurately
  • Proactively identify, track and determine the transfer pricing impact of organizational and/or business changes and assess any related party transactions to identify opportunities to develop appropriate tax strategies
  • Review, draft, implement and maintain intercompany agreements to properly document and support transfer prices
  • Prepare exposure analyses to accurately assess any uncertain tax positions and recommend actions to remediate from both an analytical and qualitative perspective
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise from business partners with respect to a particular legal entity’s transfer prices
  • Plan for and implement any IT systems changes that would benefit the administration of the transfer pricing process
  • Partner with Finance and IT to establish and consistently improve the data management process in order to identify, analyze, determine and test transfer prices for inter-company transactions
  • Acquire and be able to utilize systems skills that will allow work to be done within SAP, utilizing custom queries and reports

 

Required Education

Required Education: 

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance; Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS, JD, PhD) preferred 

Qualifications

  • The role requires an individual with at least five years of tax/transfer pricing experience working on global matters within a Big 4 or other recognized law/consulting firm   
  • The candidate will possess a broad technical knowledge of global transfer pricing laws and regulations,
  • Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the transfer pricing implications for a multi-national company and the ability to speak in detail, current developments under the BEPS regime
  • Previous experience in leading complex projects involving intercompany transfers of intellectual property, including preparation of financial analyses, supporting intercompany agreements and audit-ready defense files
  • Strong knowledge of appropriate transfer pricing treatment of intercompany services and service allocation models
  • Past experience in creating executive-level deliverables that contain robust methods of analyses synthesized in plain-language with accurate reporting of results, while demonstrating comprehensive self-review and editing
  • Experience with tax/transfer pricing software and accounting systems and a proven ability to understand segmented results and opine on the accuracy of such data
  • The candidate must be detail oriented, have the ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal guidance and have the ability to work in a dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability conducting complex financial modeling using higher level Excel functionalities (i.e., pivot tables, macros, if-statement formulas)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with significant attention to detail
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to navigate through a large matrix organization to drive processes
  • Broad ranging capabilities using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word skills
  • Experience in IP and R&D a major plus
