Overview

The Sr. Product Registration Manager plays a critical role in the US business to realize its objectives and to contribute to the overall success of the US, Canadian, and global Agricultural Solutions (AgS) businesses. The position is accountable for leading multifunctional teams in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and tactics to grow and defend products in the US portfolio as well as influencing favorable outcomes, through FMC and industry initiatives, on federal regulatory policies and issues important to the AgS business. The position requires technical competency as well as strong project management, negotiating, and influencing skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead multifunctional teams in the development of regulatory strategies and tactical plans for the US portfolio to enable optimal business results (growth and defense) in the US and the global AgS business.
  • Provide leadership to the US and Canada regulatory function in the understanding, interpreting and complying with all federal and state pesticide laws and regulations pertaining to the manufacture and use of products in the US.
  • Lead AgS initiatives, and industry efforts where it makes sense, to influence favorable regulatory policy outcomes in the US important to the US, Canada and global AgS businesses. Leading requires a full understanding of the regulatory and legislative initiatives that shape the regulatory environment for the industry.
  • Maintain complete understanding of key regulatory issues that impact the US product portfolio and provide leadership to the US and Canada regulatory function in making recommendations in advance of competitive and/or regulatory pressure.
  • Effectively manage unplanned events that affect quality of submissions and budgets.
  • Provide regulatory expertise and insights that contribute to the selection of the best candidates for acquisition and development, a lower attrition rate for development candidates based on novel technologies, and high quality core registration packages.
  • Lead proactively in advance of change based on intelligence about regulatory related actions on competitive products.
  • Integrate the Product Stewardship and Responsible Care codes of AgS into new products and expanded labels.

Required Education

BS/MS/PhD or equivalent experience in technical fields related to pesticides i.e. entomology, chemistry, plant pathology etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience in pesticide registration and regulatory affairs
  • In depth knowledge of 40 CFR, PRIA, FIFRA and FFDCA including data compensation policies and procedures
  • Experience in the product development cycle for agricultural use patterns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills

  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Analytically strong with great attention to details
  • Ability to travel 20% of time
