Overview

The Financial Analyst will provide independent support to the R&D Finance Director (FD) related to all Ag R&D and will be an integral part of the FMC R&D Finance Team.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a monthly financial forecast for FD through recollection of information from Dupont and FMC Legacy and all the regions
  • Design and issue a monthly financial reporting package for FD, including All Ag R&D cost and headcount summary.
  • Prepare quarterly project reports to analyze internal and external costs by region
  • Consolidate all the regional & global function R&D cost center and capital during the budget process
  • Summarize the regional and global function budget information for inclusion in the all Ag FMC budget presentation
  • Summarize capital plan with information from the regions
  • Serve as a member of the R&D Finance team, attending calls/ meetings and providing financial guidance when necessary
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Work closely with Procurement to identify cost reduction opportunities globally.
  • Prepare financial slides for the FD presentations to Ag and Corporate management.
  • Monitor monthly costs and prepare analysis by region
  • Assist in the design and implementation of any new process due to the integration.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of any new project management or reporting system.
  • Monitor the consultant costs and service period globally to ensure compliance to FMC policy.
  • Work closely with Corporate Tax Department to ensure expenses are provided the appropriate accounting treatment with regard to intercompany transfer pricing
  • Provide day to day financial support to R&D Directors and staff.
  • Financial modeling for product innovation (PI) projects (NPV, ROI, etc.) for all regions FMC Legacy except EMEA
  • Special projects as assigned including projects initiated by FMC Ag Philadelphia

 

Required Education

Required Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • MBA- Finance preferable

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in matrix organizations
  • Minimum of 7 years “relevant” experience in financial functions and at least 2 of them in global environments
  • Chemical or pharmaceutical industry background
  • Demonstrated skills in financial management, analysis, accounting and reporting
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a complex global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to have an impact through business and/or financial leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tenacity for bringing issues/projects to closure
  • Self-starter who is results and improvement-oriented.  Ability to take initiative, work independently or as a member of team, and report back at milestones
  • Solid understanding of accounting and skilled in financial analysis 
  • Excellent computer skills particularly Power Point and Excel and SAP
  • Strong Financial Modeling knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
