The Financial Analyst will provide independent support to the Manufacturing Finance Manager. They will be an integral part of the FMC Finance Team and will be responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting and analysis to support business decisions. The role will also support site inventory management for finance in the North America region. This role is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or stationed in Mobile, Alabama.


General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the analysis of monthly and quarterly results of the manufacturing plant.
  • Act as liaison between the different centers providing finance TSA services and the manufacturing plant.
  • Lead for all plant budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasting.  Coordinate manufacturing budget process and deliverables.
  • Work with site management to improve the plant’s economics, manufacturing and management objectives, and policies. Provides analysis of operations, inventory and assets and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Communicate financial performance of the manufacturing plant through various reporting mechanisms to both the Plant Leadership Team and Ag business finance and operations staff.
  • Direct and develop manufacturing finance forecasts. Perform analysis and interpret variances from budget. Execute product cost formulation and other cost accounting functions.
  • Manage & monitor working capital at a site level.
  • Lead site inventory management for finance. Analyze slow-moving inventory on an as needed basis to identify products that are eligible for reserve. Provide direction during routine inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory.

Business Unit Accounting:

  • Execute business unit accounting activities to support business units.
  • Prepare business unit journal entries in an accurate manner and complete reconciliations.
  • Work with the business unit’s ledger within SAP, providing accurate and consistent records of assets, liabilities and transactions.
  • Execute closing activities in accordance with the close calendar and checklist.
  • Partner with other members of North America Accounting group to resolve accounting issues and drive leading practices.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting rules and tax/state regulations, where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with FMC accounting policies, procedures and processes.
  • Operate within a robust SOX and internal control environment.


Required Education


  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with 5-7 years experience, Or MBA with at least 3 years of experience.
  • CPA, CMA, CFA, a plus.


  • Progressively responsible experience in financial management and performing sophisticated financial analyses of businesses or business divisions within a MNC environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal financial controls.
  • Advanced skills using enterprise software systems (SAP preferred), and MS Office products. In particular, candidate should be familiar with Excel advanced features such as linking files, running macros, and using pivot tables.
  • Ability to gather and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with Cost Accounting.
  • Prior experience in the budgeting and forecasting functions for a significant divisional or corporate organization.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Acts as primary liaison with external and internal auditors, and other functional departments.
