As Project Manager, you will be a member of the Corporate Engineering Services (CES) team, and provide Project Management on select large projects throughout FMC locations. In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams as projects progress through scope definition, execution, and startup. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering & construction contractors, and provide onsite supervision on regular basis to ensure successful completion of projects. You will also be expected to adhere to and apply FMC’s safety policies, procedures and systems on assigned projects, and follow FMC’s project implementation process.


Capital projects at FMC are related to variety of industries including crop protection and specialty chemicals. Majority of FMC’s manufacturing site are located outside of US hence project teams are spread globally and work happens in multiple time zones. This position will be based at Ewing, NJ. Extensive international travel anticipated in this role.


In this exciting career opportunity you will report to the Associate Director of Capital Projects (CES).


  • Lead and manage global projects through scoping, design, procurement, modular fabrication, site construction, and Startup.
  • Develop and manage globally spread cross functional project team and lead team through project completion.
  • Collaborate with leadership in Business, Finance, Operations, and Technical Center to define ideas and develop them into projects.
  • Adhere to and apply FMC’s safety policies, procedures, and systems on the project.
  • Develop necessary project management related documentation in support of Gate approvals.
  • Identify emerging issues and trends on project work and communicate effectively with the established team, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Prepare and provide updates on project status and issues to business and management via presentations.
  • Work actively with Procurement to develop contracting strategies and oversee contractor management.
  • Manage award of PO’s, review, approve and process invoices.
  • Actively seek opportunities for cost savings through innovations in scope and execution strategies. 
  • Strictly adhere to FMC’s Stage-Gate Project Implementation Process.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 


  • Minimum 15+ years of project management experience; preferably in manufacturing and industrial type projects.
  • Led and manage large capital projects outside of US.
  • Track record of delivering projects safely and meeting project objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural team situations.
  • Strong partnering skills to lead, influence, and drive behavior change.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate work process
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Self starter and be able to work with limited direction.
  • Ability to travel internationally (Asia and South America) frequently and stay abroad for multiple weeks on regular basis.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in modular design and construction
  • Experience working with Domestic (US) and Asian engineering and construction firms
  • Familiarity with PowerSteering and/or Microsoft Project
