Overview

 

FMC Corporation is seeking a motivated team member to support and extend corporate master data governance program. The scope of this position requires a good understanding of SAP Master Data and key master data governance and business processes. The candidate will work with business stakeholders to enhance a center led virtual organization chartered with developing and promoting master data governance. The candidate will also work with business to define global policies and standards for key master data and configurable selection values available within master data elements, will establish procedures and tools for consistent master data maintenance, and will develop a governance model to ensure on-going  master data accuracy.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibility Areas (MRAs)

  • Facilitate a Virtual center-led master data management organization chartered with developing and promoting master data governance
  • Deploy a center-led Master Data Object organization to promote master data management policies and standards and facilitate Master Data standardization and re-use
  •  Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders on governance processes, standards, metrics, etc. to guide continuous improvement efforts
  • Apply master data management policy and governance processes
  • Establish and Monitor policies to govern standard nomenclatures and master data ownership
  • Establish procedures for master data management processes:
  •   Create a New Policy, Process or Standard
  • Modify a Policy, Process or Standard
  •  Create New Master Data
  •  Modify Master Data
  • Oversee MDG tool implementation and/or development, if needed, to support workflow on handling of master data requests and data rules (e.g. SharePoint)
  • Retrofit Master Data objects to comply with master data management policy and data standards
  • Unmask and rationalize materials without impacting the BOM
  • Unmask and rationalize vendors and determine if/how vendor partner functionality should work for a global company
  • Unmask and rationalize customers
  • Create cross-referencing solution
  • Work with the business for future retrofit of other materials, customers and other master data objects brought under master data governance policy.
  • Recommend best practices in master data governance, data standards and policies related to customer, vendor and materials
  • Work with ERP subject matter experts to define correct usage/purpose for key master data parameters and establish master data standards that allow systems to perform as intended.

Required Education

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Formal Education:

BS. Degree, preferably in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics), Management or Business Administration and/or equivalent years of business experience.

  • Specific Knowledge Requirements:
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Master Data Governance strategies
  • Experience in a complex environment: multiple system environment, multiple languages (including Asian language), etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP R/3 version 4.6C or higher is required (demonstrated familiarity with and ability to manage master data)
  • S4 HANA experience also highly preferred 
  • SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) tool and Implementation experience highly desired

 Experience:

  •   5+ years of design, implementation, master data maintenance and/or support \

 

Additional  Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to communicate with non-technical clients, IT professionals, and management
  • Good knowledge of business software i.e. Word Processing, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange or equivalents.
  • Comfortable around upper management in order to present issues and drive for resolution.
  • Strong bias for action and desire to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong customer focus.
