The Associate Director of Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning will be instrumental in creating a Center of Excellence (COE) within FMC HR, providing thoughtful leadership and expertise and establishing the philosophy, framework and operating cadence for talent acquisition globally.  


The Associate Director of Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning will provide a range of consultation services to executive leaders and senior management on key strategies and initiatives to drive and enable workforce planning, talent attraction and retention in a high-growth environment. Reporting to the Director, Global Talent Management, this role works collaboratively across business and functions to design, develop and implement innovative and flexible global strategies, systems and support initiatives that will drive the overall talent acquisition process.  



  • Assess and develop a global framework for effective talent acquisition processes.
  • Work with human resources colleagues and senior line leadership to implement a reliable and scalable process to assess current and future skill requirements and to create workforce capacity staffing plans that support the business strategy.
  • Develop, implement and drive comprehensive talent acquisition strategies across business and functions.
  • Review the current team structure, cost position and delivery model to identify, recommend and implement changes that will improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Educate and influence FMC leaders and HR business partners on talent acquisition philosophy and strategy. Proactively clarify roles, responsibilities and expectations as consumers of the talent acquisition process and practices.
  • Design and implement global external candidate marketing and proactive recruiting programs and processes that attract, select and retain a qualified, diverse workforce.
  • Create an extraordinary candidate and new hire experience. Partner closely within HR and line functions to ensure a seamless process from recruitment to on-boarding.
  • Oversee recruitment for critical roles and senior positions, managing search firm relationships and strategy to optimize candidate generation and quality searches.
  • Leverage human resources systems and tools to provide recruiting, skills and workforce planning data and reports. Regularly monitor and analyze recruiting, diversity, retention and other human resources metrics. Use these metrics to pursue continuous improvement in the hiring process.
  • Partner with both human resources business and compensation partners to review and analyze attrition metrics and evaluate/modify the recruiting process accordingly to reduce attrition.
  • Evaluate and improve job postings, interview protocols and other internal talent recruitment and placement processes.
  • Create and implement effective social media recruiting/sourcing strategies.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, human resources initiatives and strategy.
  • Ensure submission of required government reporting, such as EEO reporting and affirmative action planning, and all documentation related to recruiting. Maintain current knowledge of legal and compliance requirements and legislation.

HR Subject Matter Expertise: Knowledgeable in multiple HR practice areas (Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, Diversity, University Relations, RPO, Technology, etc.) with mastery in one or more. Able to leverage best practice knowledge and experience to propose innovative and integrated solutions to business opportunities.

Analytics & Insights:  Leverages data from multiple sources to analyze and understand key business trends and patterns; uses analytics and insights to drive key changes or interventions.

Business Solution Design & Integration:  Designs, creates, and develops integrated, whole system strategies or solutions to meet business needs, driving cultural, large-scale transformation; leverages technology as appropriate to drive scalability and efficiency.

Program & Project Management:  Strategically manages and oversees the delivery of an integrated set of business -aligned projects to achieve desired organizational and functional objectives; ensures field ready implementation.

Business Partnership, Advising & Consulting: Develops strong consulting and partnering relationship with clients and HR colleagues by building trust, proposing integrated solutions and conveying a firm understanding of the client’s business drivers and needs.  Is widely viewed as credible, trustworthy and is relied upon for input on business decision-making.

Interpersonal Competence: Establishing and sustaining trusting relationships by accurately perceiving and interpreting one’s own and others’ emotions and behavior in the context of the political environment; leveraging insights to effectively manage one’s own responses and reactions.


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HR and talent acquisition roles. Experience in a global role strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in leading recruitment function and managing a diverse team.
  • Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication and consulting skills. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver and partner at the most senior levels in the organization.
  • Experience with and understanding of recruitment with Applicant Tracking Systems is required.
  • Consultative approach; talent advisor mindset with a proven track record of influencing senior leaders in the business and across HR.
  • Experience fostering collaborative working relationships with business partners, functional leaders and decision makers, providing influential advice to help them achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with data and identifying insights and trends to help drive the recruitment process.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and track projects, and to communicate about them with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop authentic relationships with a diverse audience of professionals.
  • Results driven, seeks accountability and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
