Overview

FMC’s Canada Marketing Manager will lead and oversee the Canadian marketing team on Canada’s product management, crop segmentation, and regional planning processes for the Canadian product portfolio supplying agreed-upon deliverables, e.g. marketing plans, localized herbicide, fungicide and insecticide strategies and crop segment strategies.  Partnership with US/Canada portfolio managers and other NA regional marketing functions will be critical to drive alignment and ensure successful execution of new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product managers to ensure effective product positioning in all key market segments.
  • Develop and maintain annual and long range plans for Canadian portfolio in alignment with segment portfolio managers
  • Develop and ensure buy-in support from the sales team for annual product plans.
  • Work with Country Manager, sales managers, and key account managers, to nurture distribution relationships to allow for continued support of FMC products.
  • Establish an effective working relationship with the US Segment Managers to share plans and strategies, to ensure alignment.
  • Review/analyze product pricing (net and gross) to create proper value capture for FMC products.
  • Balance sales demand and product supply to ensure efficient working capital.
  • Analyze the market/sectors/segments and create mid-term plans/strategies by product.
  • Manage the process for new product registrations and market development for new Canadian products.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic growth opportunities recommending the path forward and providing US/Canada leadership team with implementation plans and coordination necessary to execute.
  • Lead planning to achieve annual budget objectives for assigned products in tandem with management, development , technical service, sales, communications and customer service
  • Supply agreed-upon marketing tools necessary for superb execution of Operating Plans, i.e. pricing & programs, promotions, administration of supply contracts and product forecasting.
  • Oversee annual marketing and sales implementation, contributing as a member of the team in accomplishing Sales, POS, EBIT and risk management objectives.
  • Work with marketing support to evaluate and recommend new business opportunities such as product acquisitions, co-marketing opportunities, geographic expansion, etc.
  • Generate new business for FMC US/Canada by working with affiliated industries / competitors / suppliers / customers / vendors / etc.

Required Education

BS Agriculture, Business or related field

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years sales experience and 2 years marketing experience.
  • 5-8 years sales experience in the agricultural crop industry required.
  • Working knowledge of marketing process, through training and experience, with emphasis in the development of business plans and communications.
  • Knowledge of the Agricultural Market as it relates to market dynamics.
  • Ability to balance issues and reach an appropriate decision through the use of sound judgment.
  • Ability to drive decisions and bring conclusion to issues.
  • Basic understanding of data bases (customer and market research) with emphasis in the management and utilization.
  • Ability to think and work in integrated teams ((research (discovery and development), global planning, resourcing, manufacturing and marketing)) to determine future trends and market opportunities
  • Financial/analytical skills, which includes: 1) NPV analysis; 2) break-even analysis; and income statement development and analysis
