Overview

The Agricultural Solutions Division formulation facility in Wyoming, IL seeks a Shift Supervisor.  This role works within a team environment.  This position requires a motivated individual with a strong commitment to plant safety and to achieving results.

Responsibilities

EH&S responsibilities- plays a critical role in all site EH&S activities:

  • Ensure all EHS policies and procedures are followed 100% of the time.
  • Issue Life Critical Permits (hotwork, confined space, etc)
  • Conduct shift meetings with the Lead Operators on night shift.
  • Conduct Incident Investigations and enter information in SIMs.
  • Ensure 5S compliance: everything has a place and everything is in its place.
  • Assist with forklift certification and re-certification.
  • Complete BBS, Housekeeping, and other related safety audits.

Training responsibilities:

  • Work with Operations Manager to develop and manage operator training and qualification program.
  • Prepare/edit SOP (standard operating procedures) documents.
  • On-board new employees and temporary employees
  • Qualify temporary employees to become permanent employees, including holding performance reviews.
  • Employee Accountability responsibilities
    • Assist in creating weekly labor schedule
    • Manage calls offs and maintain attendance records.
    • Manage time-sheets and overtime for hourly and temporary employees
  • Commend/correct safety, quality, reliability, costs, and teamwork.
  • Assist in monthly MUV analysis and production verification.
  • Approve SOPs annually.

Asset Management responsibilities:

  • Operations review of new products and new processes (PSSR, Product Launch, etc)
  • Perform daily order entry for the production of finished goods and consumption of semi-finished goods including double check of the Process Work Order vs. actual production
  • Become proficient in SAP to create reports and data entry.
  • Improve work practices to minimize OEE losses
  • Submit MOCs for minor changes. Ensure training is done with production operators.
  • Submit and prioritize maintenance work requests in coordination with Maintenance Manager.

Communication responsibilities:

  • Assist in PWO entry for accurate production reporting.
  • Participate in daily meetings.
  • Daily shift instructions/priorities – work with Operations Manager and Production Services Manager.

Required Education

  • High School, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus, but not required

Qualifications

  • Five years minimum experience in the Wyoming Formulation plant with qualifications in the outside areas, strong attendance, and clean disciplinary record or
  • Five years of supervisory manufacturing experience as a Shift Supervisor or equivalent in manufacturing, production, chemicals

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with a computer in general
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • SAP knowledge a plus, but not required

Other Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

  • Forklift Certification a plus
  • AED/CPR, First Aid, First Responder certified a plus
  • Incident Command training a plus
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Able to work nights and weekends
