Overview

This position will provide operational financial leadership for the Agricultural Solutions business in Canada. Responsibilities include management and oversight of the Canada financial function, maintenance of internal controls consistent with Corporate practices and being an effective business partner to drive business results for the country.

 

Position is responsible for establishing an annual budget for a growing $100M country within the broader US/Canada Ag Solutions strategic business unit. On-going tasks include detailed P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, including identification and accurate reporting of variances within established procedures. Responsible for managing the monthly reporting of financial results and leading the forecasting process. This position will assist in driving profitable growth and the identification of opportunities, improve working capital performance, and eliminate non-value adding activities.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly business performance reporting, forecasts, budgets, long-range plans
  • Interpret and analyze detailed financial reports, including variance analyses, to monitor performance and identify potential problems / opportunities.
  • Forecast Working Capital and Cash Flow, with a focus on driving performance improvement.
  • Supervise year end audits and preparation of statutory and tax filings.
  • Coordinate accounting, treasury and tax activities with the centralized Corporate finance functions.
  • Work collaboratively sales, marketing, R&D and supply chain functions to support business operations and decisions.
  • Analysis of external/internal business trends and development of business impacts
  • Assure financial control and compliance with FMC accounting policies
  • Maintain SAP financial system integrity and seek process improvement
  • Ad hoc reporting as necessary for country and regional business leaders

Required Education

Bachelor of Science in Finance or Accounting.   MBA strongly preferred.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 6+ years financial experience in progressively responsible positions
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve business processes
  • Commercial and business savvy to influence leadership decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and strong team player
  • U.S. GAAP and SOX knowledge 
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP
  • Prior experience in an Agricultural Chemical Industry desired
  • Experience in people management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • French language a plus
