    The position will provide HR support to the AgS US formulations facilities located in Middleport, NY, to administer HR programs and services in a variety of Human Resources areas. This role will work closely with the site leadership team to develop, implement and execute human resources and labor relations strategies and programs in alignment with the near and long term goals for the facilities. In addition the HR Manager will provide sound development coaching, talent management and facilitate change processes. The position will functionally report into the HR Associate Director for AgS Global Operations.



    • Review/Edit Job Descriptions 
    • Partner with Compensation to grade
    • Participate in ‘Recruiting Strategy’ sessions
    • Interview Candidates
    • Make offer recommendation to Manager

    Employee Relations

    • Coach & counsel Managers on employee issues and how to deal with them
    • Make performance counseling recommendations to Managers
    • Support Managers in crafting Performance Improvement Plans
    • Conduct difficult conversations with employees jointly with Managers

    Union Relations

    • Maintain relationship with Union Leadership
    • Handle grievances
    • Coordinate contract negotiations


    • Coordinate and lead Human Resources training efforts as needed – i.e. sexual harassment

    On-Boarding – Managers & Employees

    • Ensure successful on-boarding for all new employees
    • Ensure successful on-boarding for all employees placed in a supervisory or managerial role

    Employee Data Management

    • Various ad hoc reports as needed in SAP
    • Various ad hoc reports to properly track recruiting efforts 
    • GPS monitoring, updates, summaries, etc.

    Misc HRBP Duties

    • Coach, counsel & train Managers on appropriate process, procedures & protocols – i.e. GPS decisions, Succession Planning, Talent Reviews 
    • Support myself in other HRBP duties with clients as needed
    • Have FMLA information sessions with employees prior to them utilizing the benefit & ensure proper tracking of FMLA/PPL/STD
    • Special Projects as needed


    Required Education

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university



    • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources  
    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with large, non-exempt employee based organizations
    • Previous experience with unions is preferred
    • Understanding of Human Resources topics – i.e. FMLA, ADA, Title VII
    • Proven ability to handle employee relation matters
    • Excellent computer skills; specifically Power Point & Excel
    • Experience with HRIS systems
    • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems
    • Strong influencing & negotiation skills
    • Ability to gain credibility & trust from both Managers & Employees
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task & meet deadlines
