FMC Corporation has an opening for an International Tax Planning Manager. The International Tax Planning Manager will join FMC’s Global Tax Accounting Center of Excellence and work on all aspects of International tax planning & reporting. Reporting to the VP of tax, primarily responsibilities are, as part of the International Tax Team, lead the International tax aspect of the Company’s planning & reporting process, such as value chain initiatives, corporate reorganizations, and M&A activities. This position also has limited responsibilities for the US international tax portions of the Company’s income tax reporting process (ASC740 & Domestic tax compliance). This will require close interaction & alignment with FMC’s global transfer pricing and tax accounting teams. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with partnering with International tax team members & leading cross-functional teams within business operations & corporate functions to plan and execute the international tax aspect of planning initiatives.



  • International Tax Planning

      • Participates in the planning, development and implementation of various tax planning initiates in order to maximize the corporation's cash flows and minimize the effective tax rate.
      • Participate in review of value chain / transfer pricing planning and valuations relating to planning transactions with a focus in international tax.
      • Manage and provide transactional support to quantify U.S. and Non-U.S. tax implications on various international transactions including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and liquidations of business units.
      • Lead or assist in various repatriation strategies to return cash to the U.S. from various jurisdictions in a cash efficient manner.
      • Communicate/consult with finance, treasury, legal and operation personnel (including external advisors) regarding planning opportunities and reporting matters.
      • Lead research and preparation of memorandums of various international tax issues to support U.S. and Non-U.S. tax filing positions.
      • Participate in the development of and manage step plans relating to various special projects and international tax transactions.
      • Manage and work with various outside tax advisers and law firms on special projects and international tax transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, or liquidations.
      • Participate in review of value chain / transfer pricing planning and valuations relating to planning transactions with a focus in international tax.
      • Identify opportunities and manage international planning initiatives (conduct research and technical analysis, obtain buy-in from applicable business functions, manage outside advisors, and implement initiatives)
      • As part of the International tax team, oversee and review all aspects of U.S. tax compliance and reporting requirements including the computations of earnings and profits, Subpart F income inclusions, and other U.S. tax inclusions. Familiarity and knowledge of Form 5471 and Form 8858 is necessary.
      • As part of the International tax team, manage and review all aspects of foreign tax credit computations and the reporting of foreign source income and expense apportionment on Form 1118.
      • Understanding of the U.S. tax rules and reporting requirements to prepare and review all necessary disclosure requirements attributable to international acquisitions, dispositions, and liquidations of business units.
      • Manage and oversee U.S. tax attributes to assist in U.S. tax reporting and international tax planning including earnings and profit pools, tax pools, tax basis in corporate and partnership structures, and foreign tax credits.
      • Responsible for responding to IRS IDR relating to international tax issues.
      • Assist in the international portion of the U.S. tax provision including local country tax provisions and ASC 740.


Required Education

Required Education:


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS, JD, PhD) preferred
  • CPA or MST is a must


    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA or MST.
    • 5-7 years international and federal tax experience in Big 4 or comparable tax experience in a large multinational corporation.
    • 5 + years with International Tax Planning.
    • Must have experience with Substantial Contribution.
    • Familiarity and knowledge of Form 5471 and Form 8858 is necessary
    • Strong knowledge of US International Tax concepts
    • Strong knowledge of ASC 740
    • Strong research, analytical and documentation skills.
    • Strong financial modeling skills using Excel as well as proficiency with Word and Power Point.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing projects to meet constant deadlines in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to apply and adapt gained experiences/knowledge to new situations.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization and outside advisors.
