The FMC Indirect Procurement organization is a fast-growing group and we are excited to be adding to our team a Sourcing Manager for logistics procurement for the North America region.


Based at the corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, this position will be responsible to work with the North America supply chain and logistic operations teams from the Agrochemical and Lithium businesses on their logistics procurement requirements. FMC’s logistics spend is focused in two primary areas: (i) regional trucking and warehouses and (ii) ocean freight. FMC also uses air freight when required. The position will deliver value to FMC by engaging with the logistics operations teams and managing the procurement process through the sourcing and contracting processes. This position also has to be able to work closely with the supply base to ensure adequate capacity for the routes selected. You should be a subject matter expert in logistics for full truckload, less-than-truckload, and ocean freight. This position delivers value by reducing risk, assuring adequate sources of supply, improving quality, and reducing cost. You are expected to achieve this by identifying and managing sourcing requirements; using existing processes and tools appropriately; identifying process improvements; and building, maintaining, and improving relationships with FMC stakeholders and suppliers.


This position reports to the Global Procurement Director, Operations and Logistics, who is based in Philadelphia.



  • Development and execution of sourcing strategies. You will own the execution of sourcing strategies which deliver value to the organization while constantly striving for improved quality. 
  • Category management support. This includes:
    • Contributing to and supporting execution of FMC’s internal Procurement strategy Supporting contract life-cycle management (e.g., renewing expiring contracts, updating pricing annually, etc.).
    • Supporting supplier management (e.g., refreshing, developing and tracking metrics (KPIs/SLAs).
    • Supporting the development of the supplier capability matrix
    • Studying and understanding the marketplace for changes, managing potential business impact, and developing risk mitigation plans. 
  • Continuous Improvement support. This includes both department/category specific business process improvements (e.g., enhancements to the sourcing process, development or revision of key sourcing procedures, documenting processes, etc.) and personal development.

Required Education

Required Education

  • Minimum Bachelors degree within Engineering or Business with an MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, commercial or operational areas.
  • Previous employment with multinational companies or overseas experience in chemical or related industries.
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Above average quantitative and analytical skills, strong knowledge of MS Excel required.
  • Ability to appreciate and understand business partners’ pain points and effectively recommending and generating solutions.
  • At ease with a fast-paced changing environment, requiring regular work prioritization and juggling multiple requirements at any given time.
  • Highly agile learner with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective influencer.

  • Willingness to travel to meet stakeholders at critical points throughout the year.



  • Knowledge and experience driving improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key supplier KPIs and SLAs and supplier management best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of legal terms and conditions and ability to negotiate all legal and commercial terms of a contract.
  • Must have ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively with an overall attention to detail.
  • Additional language skills a plus e.g., Spanish, German, Mandarin etc.
