    Responsibilities

    Role Overview & Responsibilities:

    This internship will be located at our FMC STINE Research Center in Newark, Delaware in the Operations Analytical Group. The objective of the summer internship role will be to complete the set-up and initiate the use of multi-channel LC instrument for method development of small molecule separations.   Specifically, the goals of the internship will be to investigate all current single active ingredient assay methods to convert to multi-active methods as recommended by ESPAC and CIPAC to achieve linearity, precision and accuracy without interference.

    Daily activities will include but are not limited to:

    • Know and adhere to corporate safety practices for the site and the laboratory.
    • Set up the Multichannel instrument for use with already established methods.
    • Coordinate with the manufacturer of the instrument any instrument parameters that need to be adjusted to accommodate desired analysis.
    • Prepare mobile phase standard and sample solutions for analysis.
    • Evaluate statistically generated data.
    • Prepare a method from the results of the experiments that can be used broadly at manufacturing sites world-wide.
    • Give an oral presentation of results. Administration:
    • At the completion of this internship you will have the opportunity to present a summary of your experiences and/or research project to the R&D scientific department you are aligned.

    As a STEM Intern you will also be responsible to complete administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner, follow safety protocols and perform other tasks assigned to assist within our team

    Required Education

    Required Education:

    • The success candidate will be currently enrolled as a rising second, third or fourth year student within an accredited undergraduate or Masters level program with a focus on Analytical Chemistry, specifically separations.  Doctoral students currently pursuing a PhD in this academic discipline are encouraged to apply.
