    Responsibilities

    Role Overview & Responsibilities:

    The successful applicant will assist researchers as they complete daily tasks required for successfully characterizing FMC insecticide products. This internship will provide exposure to research techniques used in Agriculture, specifically in the context of plant protection. It will also provide an opportunity for observing the diverse interactions between chemistry, plants and insects. This internship will be located at our FMC STINE Research Center in Newark, Delaware.  A summary of responsibilities includes:

    • Growing plants for research purposes in the field and greenhouse (seeding, watering, weeding).
    • Field trials: assist in laying out plot designs and plot maintenance.
    • Laboratory trials: labeling and preparing insect test units.

    At the completion of this internship you will have the opportunity to present a summary of your experiences and/or research project to the R&D scientific department you are aligned.

     Administration:

    • As a STEM Intern you will also be responsible to complete administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner, follow safety protocol and perform other tasks assigned to assist within our team.

    Required Education

    Required Education:

    • The success candidate will be currently enrolled as a rising second, third or fourth year student within an accredited undergraduate or Masters level program with a focus on Entomology or Agriculture.
