    The FMC Mobile Plant has a need for a Manufacturing Technology Chemical Engineer.  The Mobile, Alabama site is a Crop Protection Chemical Production facility that employs approximately 155 FMC personnel and 120 contract partners. This dynamic Site has a flexible, non-union, high performance work system environment and is located on affordable Gulf Coast.


    The Manufacturing Technology Engineer will be responsible for provide technical support to operations and will drive process safety, production rates, yield attainment and improvements, plant capacity and uptime performance.


    • Provides technical leadership to improve process output and productivity.
    • Develops and implements improvements in the areas of safety, reliability, process methods and controls.
    • Responsible for implementing standards and goals for safety, technology, quality and productivity.
    • Supports capital projects, including scope and basic data development, project oversight and equipment start up.
    • Updates Operating Procedures consistent with safety and quality requirements.
    • Leads and/or participates in Process Hazards Analysis reviews.
    • Supports the development of new products and the introduction of process changes initiated by research and development.
    • Leads and/or participates in safety, environmental and quality incident investigations to define corrective and preventive actions.
    • Maintains and monitors plant performance metrics.
    • Authors Pre-Campaign Documentation and Campaign Summary Reports to effectively capture and transfer process knowledge.
    • Leads programs to meet tactical and strategic objectives.

    Required Education

    • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
    • 2+ years of experience in a chemical operations environment preferred
    • Six Sigma certification preferred (Black Belt or Green Belt)



      • Demonstrated ability to meet and get results.
      • Must have strong interpersonal skills and communicates effectively with all levels of the organization.

    • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Office, and PowerPoint, etc

    • Must have demonstrated implementing concepts in a production environment as the job requires development of proficiency in the use of Uptime, Loss Elimination, and continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean and a production systems.
