    Accountable for direction, design, construction and installation of fixed assets and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with specifications and codes. Responsible for the development of technical capability of process engineers, process control engineers, process control technicians, project engineers, and project managers. Provides support for optimizing cross-functional support within responsibility area including; Site Safety, Site Quality, Area Production and Technical resources. Accountable for process controls engineering and process control maintenance for the plant control systems. Plays a key leadership role in effort to continuously improve operations in both areas of responsibility and site-wide. Is a member of the Site Leadership Team.



    • Leads EHS efforts in the engineering team, promoting a safety culture that is fully compliant with site, corporate and regulatory standards. Sponsors safe activities and seen as a leader in EHS within both their area and plant-wide.
    • Drive KPI Measurement, Root Cause Analysis, Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement of their area
    • Leads and participates in formal incident investigations identifying root causes, tracks the appropriate corrective actions, and ensures implementation to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.
    • Accountable for RCMS and PSM adherence
    • Audits conformance to safety standards
    • Ensure area is in compliance for all regulatory and process training.
    • Approve MOC and communicate changes.

    Business Support

    • Establish an effective area management system (ECS) to drive daily and weekly area performance
    • Establish work and capacity standards to support planning and scheduling of area activities
    • Integrated scheduling and coordination with other site functions and departments  
    • Responsible for direction of engineering activities
    • Responsible for the maintenance, programming, and operation of the site control systems.
    • Responsible for planning, execution, tracking and monitoring of site wide capital.
    • Responsible to provide engineering resources for project execution
    • Responsible to coordinate and approved use of external engineering in support of BC projects
    • Responsible to provide engineering resources in support of operations
    • Prepares designs and specifications and estimates costs for internal or contracted renovations, modifications, expansions or installation of plant facilities and utilities.
    • Provides engineering and cost advice about plant facilities related to the short- and long- term needs of the business.
    • Assures compliance with national, regional and local insurance ordinances, regulations and codes.
    • Ensures adherence to FMC capital deployment processes.
    • Supports FMC capital deployment process by serving as Stage Gate Assurance Review panel member.


    • Develop and direct employees in a proactive manner by fostering both individual employee contributions and development and cooperative teamwork, motivating toward total quality performance and exercising effective communication.
    • Formally appraise the performance and behavior of direct reports and provide appropriate feedback on both a continuous informal and formal basis.
    • Actively engage in the development of junior professionals; serve as a mentoring resource for the plant.
    • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsible for overall recruiting process in the area which includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
    • Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work of direct reports and in some cases their direct reports.
    • Responsible for recognizing the need to reward employees.
    • Responsible to addressing complaints, resolving problems and in some cases discipline employees
    • Manage performance of contract support personnel (engineering, project management, and document management


    • Prepare financial forecasts and budgets
    • Monitor, track and communicate all capital spending, forecasting and problems that arise with the site wide capital budget.

    Required Education

    A four year degree in a technical discipline, preferably engineering, with eight to ten years manufacturing or engineering management experience in assignments of increasing responsibility.


    General working knowledge of plant engineering, human resources practices, quality assurance practices, and environmental, health and safety management. Experience in Manufacturing software, Project Management software, Human Resources systems; MS Office, and Six Sigma principles.
