    The Analytical Sciences Leader leads a team of analytical professionals supporting both Discovery and Development (R&D) and Manufacturing in the Ag Solutions business. In the Development organization the analytical team supports both process and formulations development, as well as registration and renewal of active ingredient and formulated products.  Analytical support for Manufacturing includes development, transfer and ongoing support of analytical methods used for product release.  Additionally, the analytical team owns the NMR and IR competency.

    This role provides functional leadership for analytical teams located at Stine and at manufacturing sites globally. Working with key stakeholders, this role ensures that analytical requirements for new product introduction are delivered to meet business needs, and that accurate and precise methodology is used to release product consistent with regulatory requirements.  This role acts as Test Facility Manager at Stine, and has responsibility and authority to ensure that Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are implemented and followed for applicable studies.


    • Provide leadership to Analytical teams in Ag Solutions ensuring quality across all analytical facilities.
    • Lead all people processes for an organization of three Analytical teams to ensure the development of staff to meet current and future company needs. Ensure functional excellence is continuously developed and personal growth of all staff occurs. Ensure personnel receive appropriate quality and compliance training.
    • Ensure that resources allocation is aligned with business priorities. Provide stakeholders with proactive and timely communications.
    • Act as Test Facility Manager at Stine, with the authority and responsibility for the organization and function of the test facility according to GLP requirements.
    • Lead the Analytical teams to develop and execute strategic improvement initiatives for the analytical teams, enabling continuous improvement both in R&D and in Manufacturing. Identify and staff programs to evaluate new analytical technologies for use globally.
    • Ensure strong connection between R&D team, regulatory and manufacturing analytical teams. Within Manufacturing, support staffing decisions and development, lead equipment renewal programs and programs to develop and share of best practices.
    • Actively participate in the development and execution of the strategy for the organization.
    • Represent and/or ensure the company is represented externally in related industry forums. Develop network with Industry trade associations and other organizations to influence emerging technologies and regulations in the area of Analytical chemistry and product chemistry.

    Required Education

    Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, a concentration in chromatography is preferred


    • 10 years of direct experience in the agricultural chemicals business, or other regulated business.
    • Experience and/or familiarity at plant operations
    • Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with chemical analytical methods, method development, analytical concepts, and analytical technologies.
    • A good knowledge of various country regulatory requirements for Agricultural Solutions product registration, along with regulatory science, stewardship, and analytical science.
    • Familiarity with the company’s R&D and Operations organizations.


    • A minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships outside the workgroup that enhance the performance of the teams.
    • Experience in building and managing high functioning teams that effective collaborate and deliver innovative solutions.
    • Track record of advancing core values, e.g., safety, respect, environmental stewardship and ethics.
