    Overview

    FMC AGRO Singapore is an organization with sales in excess of $1B. Based in Singapore, the Director of Technology and Development is the executive responsible for the innovation programs directed toward the manufacture of pesticide active ingredients or advanced intermediates and transfer to strategic contract manufacturing partners or FMC manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate is a key decision maker that is embedded within the FMC global procurement organization and will report to the Director, Global Procurement FMC AGRO Singapore Pte Ltd.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop the innovation strategy, secure the necessary R&D resources, and deliver progress versus defined goals and time lines for programs supporting the scale-up and commercialization of active ingredients and / or advanced intermediates
    • Lead aggressive manufacturing cost reduction programs to achieve goals utilizing internal and external resources and deliver globally competitive cost advantages
    • Direct the development and/or acquisition of new and improved proprietary technologies
    • Maintain FMC’s high standards for quality and adherence to product specifications
    • Supplement end use formulation development as needed to deliver superior products to our customers
    • Collaborate with scientists throughout the development process and critically assess the approaches being taken to ensure success
    • Ensure the successful transfer of technology to FMC manufacturing facilities and strategic contract manufacturing partners across geographic regions

    Required Education

    • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related technical field

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment targeted toward the preparation of highly regulated chemicals such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, or similar field
    • Strong project management, leadership, and technical skills
    • Proven track record of managing research programs within a multi-disciplined R&D organization
    • Ability to travel 30-50% with a strong focus in the Asia Pacific region
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives and other professionals of varied backgrounds, business experiences
    • Strong business acumen combined with the technical skills to identify and evaluate business opportunities through the application of proven methodologies and processes
    • Experience developing, negotiating, and managing contracted technology service providers
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to develop and evaluate work plans and set priorities
    • Experience in guiding technical professionals to achieve goals while effectively using available resources to focus on the most critical projects
