    This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Intellectual Property(IP) Legal Team in building, maintaining and protecting FMC Corporation’s global IP portfolio. The expectations for the successful candidate will include a full range of complex legal, general office and Administrative Assistant duties requiring conscientious and confidential handling. The successful candidate will frequently access highly confidential information and files; will communicate with contacts at all levels in the organization, industry and community. A successful candidate will have a high level of proficiency in MS Office programs, IP database systems, taking initiative and at times relying on good independent judgment.


    • Manage email mailbox by daily review and acknowledgment of receipt of emails received from trademark/patent offices, local agents, FMC associates, as well as distributing e-mail received to responsible IP Team Members for review and handling
    • Support trademark/patent management functions by creating new profiles in trademark/patent docketing/management system and forwarding related email and documents to docketing group
    • Support IP Paralegals in clean-up and maintenance of IP docketing databases, including quality review of docket
    • updates and resolving docketing inaccuracies to ensure accurate docketing of information
    • Cross train to support other IP Administrative Assistants in order to maintain workflow consistency
    • Provide high-level administrative support to IP Paralegals and Attorneys, including but not limited to travel arrangements, expense reports, invoices processing, meeting coordination, and administration of voice/email/mail
    • Create, maintain and manage electronic and paper files on and off-site in accordance with document retention policy
    • Obtain necessary information and complete template documents in support of worldwide patent and trademark activities
    • Proof documents for factual correctness and consistency.
    • Obtain properly authorized signatures for documents such as agreements, powers of attorney, documents for submission to patent and trademark offices worldwide, etc.
    • Contact and arrange communication effectively with internal/external sources (business, teams, local agents and others)
    • Produce complex presentation materials and prepare background documents
    • Retrieve data from appropriate systems; inputs into spreadsheets; checks for accuracy of figures; analyze information and issue reports


    Required Education

    Minimum High School Degree; Associate Degree preferred


    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 3- 5 years of progressive IP experience in order to gain a complete understanding of domestic/foreign trademark and patent prosecution
    • Sound understanding of IP docketing systems, preferably DIAMS iQ, CPi, or IP Manager experience helpful
    • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IP database software and the Internet with the ability to learn new applications
    • Ability to multitask with a high level of attention to details
