    Overview

    This position will be responsible for the indirect goods and services procured by Lithium, including professional services, such as IT, telecom, human resources, travel, as well as MRO, and contractor services.  This position acts as a partner to the business in: (i) identifying and managing sourcing needs, (ii) developing relationships with suppliers, and (iii) maintaining subject matter expertise in relevant categories to bring innovative procurement solutions at the highest value and lowest cost to Lithium.

    Responsibilities

    You will be global category leader for the indirect spend within the growing procurement function. The category spend will increase each year as the Lithium business expands. You will be responsible for developing new contracts for service providers to the Lithium business that are currently provided by a centralized corporate procurement team that is part of FMC. In addition, you will be required to provide support to the North Carolina plant for contractor services and MRO and to partner with our procurement team members in the APAC, LATAM, and EMEA regions to ensure that their sourcing strategies are fully executed and to capture the benefits as defined in terms of total cost of ownership. 

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Serve as lead procurement business partner to the new IT organization as they develop their independent strategy, which will likely include leading large-scale RFPs, vendor selection and contract and price negotiations [are they
    • Undertake RFI’s/RFP’s to source other critical professional service providers and to develop strategic partners
    • Create category strategy for indirect procurement focused on large value and / or strategic services for the business
    • Develop measures to monitor annual supplier performance to determine that all enablers required are available to deliver the category strategy
    • Work with legal department to achieve acceptable contracts
    • Employ financial analysis and economic modeling skills to evaluate supplier proposal pricing and develop flexible contractual pricing models which accommodate inflation, currency, scope changes, and other areas of risk mitigation and cost control

    Other important skills include:

    • Strong project management skills with an ability to facilitate change while leading cross-functional teams to qualify and to implement new sources of supply
    • High degree of comfort in operating in a fast-paced environment where you will be challenged to deliver on your commitment to results that support the top line and bottom line growth
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time including internationally to meet suppliers, engage with business leaders and be present at our manufacturing plant locations
    • Ability to influence and motivate others in a matrix environment
    • Ability to navigate in a multicultural environment across a wide range of time zones

    Required Education

     

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA desired

     

    Qualifications

    • Possess 5 - 10 years of experience in Procurement or Commercial roles with a successful track record in developing and executing supplier strategies in the direct materials category
    • Expertise in contracts management, either in Procurement or Commercial contexts
    • International experience strongly preferred
    • Demonstrated skills in working effectively across business lines and partnering with the businesses and departments to meet objectives
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Solid interpersonal and communications skills
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including a demonstrated ability to analyze complex pricing proposals and formulate a strategic plan
