    This position is responsible for technical analysis, guidance, and management of Sustainability activities supporting FMC manufacturing. The position will interact with numerous cross-functional teams helping them identify, prioritize, and implement sustainability related opportunities using industry best practices such as energy audits, water risk assessments, waste certification assessments and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). This role will also serve to support business functions as they integrate sustainability into their core activities such as technical center efficiency initiatives, capital deployment, mergers & acquisitions, and procurement.



    • Lead the sustainability operations/environmental data process, including the software data collection system and maintenance of the system through the software vendor, as well as collaborating with site representatives to ensure accuracy in the metrics. Thoroughly analyze and challenge the data to drive improvements at individual sites as well as across the business.
    • Provide leadership and expertise to improve the environmental metrics. This includes coordinating energy audits, waste assessments, and water risk assessments, as well as managing partnerships with consulting groups, NGOs and other external groups.
    • Monitor industry best practices in resource efficiency; identify FMC sites where efficiency initiatives could be prioritized and work with the sites to implement them.
    • Evaluate and coordinate renewable energy opportunities throughout the organization.
    • Support business needs to respond to customer, shareholder and other stakeholder requests for information, surveys and audits as necessary.
    • Participate in Sustainability Review deliverables in projects going through the Capital Deployment Process to ensure opportunities are properly evaluated and designed to address sustainability.
    • Monitor industry best practices in sustainability and corporate social responsibility to ensure that FMC maintains leadership position in these areas.
    • Lead the annual external assurance process for key sustainability metrics reporting.
    • Lead FMC’s data disclosure process for CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) and other sustainability indices as needed.
    • Assist finance, marketing and technical teams in evaluation of sustainable innovation data as part of the R&D process, including product and process development alternatives and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).


    Required Education

    At least 3 years of chemical industry experience in manufacturing or process design. Experience in environmental efficiency initiatives, energy management and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) assessments preferred.

    Bachelors’ degree in chemical engineering is required. Masters’ degree in engineering or environmental field preferred.
