  • Overview

    The Lithium Engineering team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering support to capital projects and chemical manufacturing facilities globally.  This individual will be responsible for providing detail design capabilities in the area of mechanical and electromechanical support of chemical processes.  The Mechanical Engineer will work on all stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning, while maintaining a constant awareness of industry codes and standards focusing on safety, reliability and cost. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical equipment of innovation and excellence. 


    • Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators. 
    • Provide specialized Mechanical Engineering expertise for chemical manufacturing facilities.Act independently and provide leadership and direction for assignment, programs and projects.
    • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials. 
    • Lead the Mechanical discipline through the conception, detailed design and execution of significant capital projects. 
    • With a focus on safety, reliability and cost effectiveness, provide evaluation, interpretation and implementation of FMC/Industry standards and best practices covering standards from ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, AWS and NFPA.  
    • Design, implement and ensure new and existing facilities are optimized.
    • Act as the senior staff specialist for the mechanical discipline; recognized throughout our company for thorough knowledge of broad areas of mechanical design and safety.
    • Work with project managers, partner engineering firms and sites engineering teams to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. This effort includes timely review with comment of all engineering documents.
    • Prepare proposals, cost estimates and documents for engineering projects 
    • Inspect project sites to ensure they meet relevant codes and are progressing properly 

    Required Education

    BS Mechanical Engineering


    • 10+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering
    • Experience with full large project development and execution.  
    • Application of mechanical engineering principles and practices applied to process and mechanical equipment design, fabrication, installation, commissioning and maintenance. 
    • Ability to select appropriate methods, equipment and materials used in construction of mechanical engineering projects. 
    • Ability to prepare static and rotating equipment and pipe specifications.
    • Procurement experience with vendor selection and bid technical reviews.
    • Experience in engineering support during project construction and start-up. 
    • Experience with on and off module piping design.
    • Ability to work with multiple teams and disciplines. 
    • Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Written and verbal technical communication skills
