    The mechanical engineer will provide maintenance engineering and mechanical engineering support for the production units on the Mobile site. The person in this position needs to have a broad knowledge and experience with the typical equipment used in manufacturing on a Chemical plant site. This includes all types of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, filtration, piping design, and material handling. This person will work closely with process engineers, maintenance and manufacturing technicians in a collaborative environment.


    • Providing day to day maintenance engineering support to specific areas of the plant site.
    • Support continuous improvement by providing specifications and designs for mechanical equipment improvements to fixed and rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, blowers, agitators, heat exchangers, compressors, etc.)
    • Accurately adhere to the documentation requirements for the management of change (MOC) process.
    • Lead FMEA and Why Tree’s to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Work with procurement team and vendors for repairs or for the purchase of new equipment.
    • Building equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) in the SAP maintenance management system.
    • Support the company and site programs for Environmental, Health, & Safety.
    • Participate as the mechanical engineering resource for Minor and Major capital project teams.
    • Mentor and support the maintenance technicians in your area of responsibility.
    • Serve as a resource to the Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance Team
    • Work with reliability engineering sustaining and continuously improving the equipment reliability program.
    • Work collaboratively with the manufacturing, process engineering, and maintenance teams.

    Required Education

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering



    • Engineer in Training or Professional Engineering License in good standing
    • Manufacturing plant experience (Chemical Plant Preferred): 4 years minimum
    • Demonstrated knowledge specifying mechanical equipment used on a chemical plant site adhering to applicable standards: 4 years minimum
    • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC)
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving and analytical skills
    • Organized, able to manage multiple activities, and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Strong leadership and effective management and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of ASME codes and standards
    • Knowledge of API standards 510, 570, and 653
    • Excellent communications/interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with varying levels of the organization from technicians to management.
