    Responsibilities

    This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the newly formed Legal Department of FMC Corporation’s Lithium business which is planned to be separated into a publicly-traded company later this year.

     

    Based in Philadelphia and under the supervision of internal legal counsel, you will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of programs, policies, and practices to ensure FMC Lithium and its subsidiaries are compliant with the FMC Lithium Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and other FMC Lithium policies and protocols and applicable laws and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day compliance activities related to the FMC Lithium business.
    • Work with internal legal counsel to develop and implement effective global policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures, to ensure compliance with various international, federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    • Provide guidance and direction on compliance processes, activities, systems (including compliance databases and other electronic compliance tools), and administration.
    • Work with internal legal counsel to develop, coordinate, and manage compliance education and training programs and systems. Serve as compliance training instructor.
    • Interpret, synthesize/understand and summarize in writing and verbally the impact of international, federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    • Proactively research/resolve compliance-related questions and serve as a resource for submissions to regulatory agencies.
    • In coordination with legal counsel, conduct compliance reviews and investigations, and prepare related written reports.
    • Understand, stay informed of, and report on best compliance practices.
    • Work with internal legal counsel to identify compliance gaps and work with appropriate business functions to correct and/or mitigate potential issues.
    • In coordination with internal legal counsel, prepare presentations and deliver reports to business leaders on compliance activities, issues, and processes.
    • Handle various administrative tasks, ad-hoc legal and compliance projects
    • Other duties as required.

    Required Education

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved institution required.

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of ethics and compliance.
    • Strong attention to detail, tolerance for time pressure deadlines and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Self-starter, quick learner, and able to work independently.
    • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills.
    • Resourceful and able to assimilate and analyze a wide variety of information, and work with a variety of staff levels and corporate departments.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, demonstrated ability to interact with other professionals to gather and disseminate information. Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
    • Strong general computer skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft Office business software (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Internet usage.
