    Overview

    The role is based at the FMC Tower in Philadelphia. You will be responsible for all Professional Services categories globally, and for the development and professional happiness of two fantastic Professional Services Sourcing Managers.

     

    You will be expected to “hit the ground running” and make a visible positive impact on the group within the first few weeks. You will have leadership presence, impeccable integrity and ethics, and an entrepreneurial spirit. You will bring technical credibility via a breadth of experience in the Procurement of all things Professional Services: IT (Telecom, Software, Hardware), Marketing, Human Resources, Travel, Consulting Services, etc. In the subcategories where you may require more experience, you will supplement with endless curiosity, logic, determination to succeed, effort, charisma and EQ. The successful candidate is both a leader and a doer.

    Responsibilities

    Category Maturity

    Professional Services within FMC is the least mature Procurement category. You will be expected to manage a demanding day-to-day schedule, while ensuring stakeholder, vendor, and team satisfaction. In parallel you will be focused on driving maturity within different subcategories each year. You can anticipate the following requirements:

    • Deliver an overarching 3-year Professional Services category vision within the first 12 weeks (primary focus on North America but keeping an eye on global strategy as well)
    • Annually manage your own category strategy plan for multiple sub-categories and ensure your resources are delivering on their allocated category strategy plans
    • Partner with the business and/or function to develop, recommend and implement visions of the sub-category strategy including but not limited to, market intelligence, spend overviews, sourcing strategies, supplier selection activities, negotiations, contracting and identifying specific areas for supplier management improvement. Support your team in doing the same at their level and with their strategies.
    • Provide end to end management of two resources, and make them excel: e.g. support their workload, prioritization of work, problem resolution, work review, feedback provision etc.
    • Facilitate cost-analysis activities in partnership with finance, the business and/or the function.
    • Integrate best practices and modernized business processes across the enterprise, ensuring best use of tools, techniques and processes (e.g. RFX, SOWs, contract templates, etc.).
    • Utilize creativity and thought processes unique to you, to drive FMC’s Indirect Procurement organization forward

     

    Business Process Modernization

    FMC has embarked on a program to modernize business processes which is enabled by SAP S/4HANA. You will be expected to work closely with the BPM team and our internal Procurement group to review data, provide input on reporting requirements, and identify solution gaps. You will also be expected to be a change management driver and ensure utilization of the new solutions.

     

    Team Management

    You will be responsible for the success, growth and satisfaction of two qualified, effective sourcing managers. You will work to provide guidance and support on the work they are conducting as well as in the management of their workload and prioritization. You will be required to challenge their thought processes and identify areas for improvement. You will work closely with them to outline their goals, and their progress towards achieving their goals. You understand that their successes and failures are yours to share.

    Required Education

    Bachelor's Degree

    Qualifications

     

    • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills and a demonstrated ability to analyze complex data
    • Demonstrated communication, influencing, and change management skills
    • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to negotiate complex contracts
    • Strong understanding of Category Strategy. Demonstrated experience strongly preferred

    Level I

    • 4+ years Professional Services procurement experience (if 4 years then 1+ additional years other relevant work experience/or MBA required)
    • Demonstrated experience in creating national or global category strategy for at least 1 sub-category

    Level II

    • 5+ years Professional Services procurement experience (if 5 years then 2+ additional years other relevant work experience/or MBA requiredExperience in leading high performing team
    • Deep knowledge in leading a global category sourcing strategy for 2+ sub-categories.
    • Experience in leading high performing team
