    Overview

    This Modularization Manager will be responsible for all modular aspects of the design and execution of all projects in China and Argentina.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop modularization function and capabilities in Engineering organization
    • Develop process, procedures, systems and training
    • Work with project managers across teams to plan and execute modular projects globally
    • Partner with project managers in managing / working with 3rd party vendors on issue resolution related to modularization
    • Provide civil engineering consultation across teams
    • Adhere to and apply all Lithium safety policies, procedures, and systems on projects
    • Collaborate with Business, Finance, Operations, and Technical Center to clearly define project scope and requirements
    • Lead and manage project from idea through scoping, design, procurement, construction, and startup.
    • Develop cross functional project team and lead team through various project stages
    • Develop necessary project management related documentation in support of approvals
    • Work actively with Procurement to develop contracting strategies and oversee contractor management
    • Issue Purchase Orders and review, approve and process invoices
    • Identify emerging issues and trends on project work and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
    • Actively seek opportunities for cost savings through innovations in scope and execution strategies
    • Prepare and provide updates on project status and issues to business and management
    • Strictly adhere to FMC’s Stage-Gated Capital Deployment Process (CDP)

    Required Education

    • BS degree engineering or related field

    Qualifications

     

    • Chinese and English language proficiency preferred
    • Deep experience and expertise in Modular design and fabrication experience
    • At least 15 years’ experience in execution of major capital projects in the chemical or petrochemical industries.
    • Experience designing and preparing Project Execution Plans for large capital projects
    • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with all stakeholders, including contractors and sub-contractors.
    • Strong conflict management skills.
    • Experience working with international teams.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Team player who is flexible and attuned to meeting the needs of the Lithium Business.
    • Must be able to travel 25 % of the time.  Includes international travel to South America and Asia.
    • Experience working on construction projects at remote location and high altitude is a plus.
    • Comfortable living in camp housing for extended period.
