    As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be a member of the Lithium Engineering team, supporting and leading process development work and new process improvements for FMC Lithium’s global capital projects and manufacturing sites. Typically, there will be a mixture of major projects and several smaller projects simultaneously. As a member of our team, you will manage process design and review on new expansions and help to identify process, energy, cost and process safety improvement opportunities within existing FMC manufacturing facilities. You’ll develop those opportunities into defined projects, and provide the necessary design, development and project execution to implement the improvements.


    • Lead and coordinate process engineering activities for large capital projects.
    • Work with project managers, partner engineering firms and sites engineering teams to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
    • Partner with R&D and Technical Center teams on new product and chemistry developments and evaluations.
    • Prepare unit operation design specifications.
    • Scale up, design, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes and facilities.
    • Provide conceptual design of process equipment and systems
    • Prepare and review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, material and energy balances.
    • Identify and apply design and simulation tools for design and optimization of processes.
    • Perform equipment sizing calculations and develop specifications for estimating and procurement.
    • Provide equipment installation and start up support.
    • Identify process hazards and participate in process safety reviews.
    • Develop and deliver improvements to plant reliability, throughput and excellent EHS performance. 

    Mentor and train Engineering Development Program (EDP) candidates.

    Required Education

    • This position requires minimum of an accredited B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering  



    • Candidates should have at least 10 years’ working experience in the Chemical Engineering field.
    • Experience with large capital project development with demonstrated capabilities in process design, production support, process safety management and commissioning/start-up support.  Design would include ISBL and OSBL facilities.
    • Experience with Operations/Manufacturing Support.
    • Experience with process improvement scope definition packages and proposals
    • Ability to handle complex processes and chemistry applications. 
    • Excellent problem-solving experience required. 
    • Ability to contribute both as a team member and a team leader.

      • Hazards evaluation and process safety evaluations
      • Emergency Relief Device sizing and tools
      • Process design and optimization tools (ASPEN)
      • Batch and continuous process optimization
