    FMC Corporation has an opening for a Senior Tax Accounting Analyst to help drive accurate financial reporting from FMC’s International operations and assist in federal and state tax compliance of FMC’s US operations. The Tax Accounting Analyst will join FMC’s Global Tax Accounting team and work on all aspects of tax reporting. Reporting to the Manager of Global Tax Accounting, primary responsibilities include supporting the timely and accurate recording and disclosure of FMC’s global income tax provision in its quarterly and annual financial statements reported externally to shareholders. A key focus of this role will be its responsibilities for participating in the training and educating of International finance team members and reviewing quarterly and year-end tax packages from International operations. Further, this position supports the domestic tax compliance function by liaising with FMC finance teams and FMC’s compliance tax service providers to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all domestic tax filings. The ideal candidate must be comfortable partnering with business operations within the organization to educate, develop and promote the established tax provision processes with business partners, consultants, and other tax team members. To operate in this function successfully with minimal guidance, the position requires an individual with experience in tax accounting for a global corporate enterprise who is well versed in ASC 740 and related guidance.


    Global Tax Accounting & Reporting

    • Prepares and reviews quarterly and annual income tax provisions for the global consolidated results of the Company
    • Supports calculation of quarterly and annual global effective tax rate
    • Assists with the preparation of tax footnote disclosures to be included in the Company's SEC filings (10‑Q and 10-K) and other tax related disclosures
    • Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to streamline tax accounting and compliance processes, partner with Finance and IT to establish and consistently improve the data management process in order to efficiently obtain accurate information required for global income tax accounting and compliance
    • Assists with the review of foreign entity provision reporting packages, including provision to return analysis
    • Assists with the training of finance teams globally in applying ASC 740 rules to local accounting transactions
    • Assists with quarterly and annual reconciliation of global legal entity income tax accounts
    • Analyzes global tax attributes, including recommendations and supporting documentation for valuation allowances on deferred tax assets in a tax jurisdiction
    • Assists with ensuring execution and monitoring conformance of the Company’s income tax-related Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance
    • Advises on various complex global income tax accounting matters and related financial statement implications (e.g. uncertainty for income taxes, indefinite reinvestment of earnings, realizability of tax attributes, etc.)
    • Assists with the coordination and performance of foreign tax basis balance sheet and cumulative temporary difference analysis
    • Supports management in coordinating external financial statement and tax return audits related to income tax
    • Supports Tax Accounting Management in providing Global OTP training and maintenance
    • Proactively researches and monitors issues and in-period changes in accounting for income taxes
    • Remains informed with respect to tax law developments and impact on the Company
    • Liaise with FMC finance teams and FMC’s external tax compliance service providers to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all domestic tax filings
    • Assist with federal and state audits including monitoring status, investigating issues, compiling support, and drafting formal responses to notices and audit inquiries.

    Required Education

    • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA (whether pursuing or secured) or a graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS) is preferred



    • The role requires technical knowledge of ASC 740 and related concepts
    • The role requires an individual with 3-5 years working significantly on ASC 740 tax accounting preferably with experience with foreign subsidiaries and preferably from a Big 4 or other law/consulting firm
    • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (“OTP”) and Global Access preferred
    • Transfer Pricing / other Tax Planning knowledge a plus
    • The candidate must be detail oriented, have the ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal guidance, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong project management capabilities with the ability to effectively navigate through a large matrix organization
    • Strong Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Word skills
