    Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe systems; and performs emergency response tasks as needed.



    • In emergency situations, removes people from confined spaces.
    • Participates on the PERT team as an entry member.
    • Contains and cleans-up hazardous waste spills.
    • Suppresses fires inside and outside of buildings.
    • Administers basic first aid.
    • Performs standard duties related to fire suppression, fire prevention, hazard spill response, emergency response, and rescue operations (PERT).
    • Completes all applicable permits and job walk-downs for repair work (i.e. Lockout/Tag-out, Safe Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, etc.).
    • Ensures all maintenance practices are in compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations.
    • Participates in incident investigations identifying root causes and appropriate corrective action to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.
    • Enters near miss or incident reports into SIMS database. Takes appropriate action to resolve then provides sufficient detail to enable root cause analysis through an incident investigation.
    • Actively participates in the Behavior-Based Safety program.
    • Responsible for maintaining 5S standards in shop areas and in the area where a job has just been completed.
    • Complies with all position, regulatory, and safety training.
    • Performs daily safety inspections
    • Intervenes when unsafe acts or conditions are encountered.

    Business Support

    • Responsible for executing mechanical work orders as scheduled and planned
    • Responsible for visually inspecting and tests machinery and equipment.
    • Responsible for dismantling defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
    • Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, and tools.
    • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
    • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
    • Responsible for keeping accurate records of work performed, time spent on jobs, and materials used.
    • Responsible for recommending and implementing improvement ideas/methods for maintenance to lower costs and to improve equipment performance and reliability, and personnel safety.
    • Responsible to enter production data into VDBs, log/batch sheets, databases and systems (SAP).
    • Drives forklift to move material to and from maintenance areas.



    • Responsible for informing supervisor of needed maintenance
    • Responsible to keep personal training up to date.
    • Works effectively with the production team ensure safe and effective repair of equipment.

    Required Education

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


    Minimum 3 years experience in process manufacturing or equivalent trade school diploma or certification.



    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Manufacturing software and Microsoft Office applications.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is often required to operate equipment such as golf carts or equivalent, forklifts, trucks, and man lifts.


    Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. To perform emergency response activities, the employee will occasionally be required to don a positive pressure respirator.
