Global Category Manager - Manufacturing Formulations

Based at the FMC Tower (global headquarters in Philadelphia), this position is responsible for the Procurement of all Formulations Contract Manufacturing Services . This position acts as a partner to the businesses and resource to the Regional manufacturing operations leadership and Procurement professionals globally located with the intention of driving global strategies and local execution.

• A key business partner and resource to the Regional manufacturing operations leadership, with a mission to establish an agile and highly reliable network of contract manufacturers while also rationalizing portfolio to consolidate network and reduce resource demand on FMC to support network
• This is position is expected to identify, assess, and negotiate contracts with Contract Manufacturing partners for the formulation of crop protection products; including biologicals, micronutrients and conventional active ingredients
• Manage existing relationship with a network of 100+ contract manufacturing partners, with a spend of $50M USD
• Ensure partners are properly qualified and able to executing in compliance with FMC EHS and Procurement policies
• When required, develop business case for contract manufacturing, present alternative the meet the requirement of the business, reliable, and cost effective

• Establish a consistent Formulations Contracting Manufacturing Services policy and compliance process across all business regions
• Establish a dashboards of KPIs with an annual review and feedback process with critical partners
• Partner with R&D and other stakeholders to develop and present options for Formulations manufacturing of new products
• This role is not responsible for the day to day management of FMC related Toll manufacturing activities or resolving technical performance issues
• Develop market intelligence on supply base by region, monitor key events that may result in a security of supply risk (M&A, financial, natural disasters, force majeure, logistics issues, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in chemistry or engineering, MBA desired

• Chemical Engineer with 10+ years in manufacturing and / or supply chain, preferably in Crop Protection industry
• Ability to provide the leadership fulfill commitments and access resources to meet business objectives in a fast paced environment.
• Strong business acumen with proven track record of negotiating $M service contracts
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly build strong relationship with partners and resolve disagreements
• A leader able to quickly establish credibility with leadership of FMC, Contract Manufacturing leadership and other stakeholders
• Confident and at ease when communicating with executive leadership and key stakeholders
• Ability to analyze complex business proposals and define strategy to achieve best value for FMC
• Skilled in conducting  preliminary QEHS assessments
• Self starter with a sense of urgency, drive for results on commitments, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Able to analyze complex business proposals and define strategy to achieve best value for FMC, capable of conducting       preliminary QEHS assessment
• Works effectively in a cross functional team and able to influence outcomes
• Demonstrated Procurement and R&D technical functional skills
• Expertise in contracts management, either in Procurement or Commercial contexts
• International experience is strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills and a demonstrated ability to analyze complex pricing proposals and formulate a strategic plan

Grade 24

All qualifications mentioned above in addition to the following:

• 5+ years experience (out of the 10+ year of experience) must have direct formulation experience in manufacturing operations – such as mixing, blending , grinding, and minor chemical manipulation
• Have demonstrated formulation experience combined with direct experience in either the Agricultural, Pharmaceutical or Flavors / Fragrance industries
• Demonstrated people leadership experience and executive presence to influence the stakeholders and operations staff globally across all of FMC businesses
