    Overview

    The primary responsibility of the Run Plant Engineer is to ensure consistent and reliable plant operations. In this role the ideal candidate will own day-to-day production troubleshooting and lead cross functional teams to address production issues. The Run Plant Engineer is also responsible for meeting production plans, driving manufacturing excellence, and supporting EHS and capital goals.

     

    Responsibilities

    Environmental Health & Safety

    • Responsible for management of the MOC process including initiation of requests, review and approval of submitted requests, training, PSSR’s and communication of changes across departments
    • Lead or assist in RCA to improve site operational and EHS performance
    • Develop Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) plans and support PHA execution
    • Engage in weekly toolbox safety presentations and support site safety efforts
    • Apply engineering principles to solve health safety, and environmental problems

    Process Support

    • Responsible for maintaining the Operating Asset Utilization(OAU) program at the site and analysis of the data to identify production opportunities in conjunction with the Tech Center and R&D.
    • Own day to day production troubleshooting and lead cross functional team to address production issues
    • Ensure production plans are met by operating within standard operating limits and ensuring equipment is operating as designed. Engage Tech Center to trouble shoot abnormal conditions
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and BOM’s
    • Assess and facilitate improvement of current plant processes in coordination with Tech Center
    • Analyze data to drive data-based decision making
    • Drive site shutdown activities and scheduled maintenance outages

    Capital

    • Lead development and execution of small to medium projects (typically up to $100k) in coordination with the Tech Center
    • Responsible for evaluating and approving all final design documents such as P&ID’s, equipment specs, drawing releases etc.

    People

    • Develop operator and supervisor training programs
    • Mentor the Tech Center Engineering Development Program (EDP) Engineers on processes/ technology and assist in technical development

     

    Required Education

    B.S degree in Chemical Engineering

     

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

     

    • Strong safety orientation in OSHA and PSM
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in a chemical environment with process experience.
    • Experienced professional with knowledge of the technical field and working knowledge of business processes, technologies and applications.
    • A demonstrated history of bringing a major project in safely, on time and on budget
    • Being data based and results driven with strong action orientation
    • The ability to effectively present at both informal and formal training settings
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Projects, AutoCad, and Minitab are preferred
