    This position is responsible for the forecasting and collaborative demand planning process for FMC’s Global Specialty Solutions business. The Demand Planner assembles and assesses key inputs including, sales history and trends, open orders, sales and marketing estimates, previous forecasts, and new product launches. This role will also perform statistical analyses to develop an accurate operational demand plan that ensures high service levels and efficient inventory management. Additionally, this position will actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the Logility Demand Planning tool.

    The GSS Demand Planner will coordinate synchronized demand planning activities in support of the business including, working on cross-functional teams (new product introductions, label extension, production discontinuations, commercial projects) and supporting the implementation of demand planning projects (forecast accuracy improvements, bias reduction, and use of statistical forecasts)


    • Maintain Logility Demand Planning tool for assigned products and regions
    • Execute demand forecast process and modeling, including gathering inputs, consolidating information and data entry into Logility. Partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to develop a consensus demand plan
    • Assemble and assess statistical and commercial forecasts based on market and competitive information, customer trends and product promotions to deliver improved forecast accuracy
    • Document and challenge forecast assumptions based on process input analysis, forecast modeling, and monthly updates
    • Review and analyze forecasts, conduct trend analysis, identify opportunities and risks, and recommend appropriate revisions and tactics
    • Maintain statistical models and key drivers to provide an accurate forecast and ensure data integrity
    • Evaluate sales history to recommend changes to independent forecasts
    • Escalate demand exceptions and resolve with master scheduling team
    • Facilitate the Monthly Demand Review meeting as part of the monthly S&OP process, resulting in a demand plan for supply chain production and inventory planning
    • Analyze forecasting reports and key performance indicators (forecast accuracy, error and bias) to continuously improve the quality of the forecast.
    • Provide root-cause analysis and identify corrective actions to meet forecast accuracy and bias goals.
    • Work as liaison between Supply Chain and Commercial teams. Highlight potential supply issues vs. demand plan and communicate potential inventory/service level impacts in a timely manner
    • Prepare and maintain relevant demand planning and commercially requested reports
    • Responsible for accurate system data entry, maintenance and discontinuation of SKUs

    Required Education

    • BA/BS in Business/Statistics, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field


    • 5 plus years’ experience in Demand Planning
    • 3 years’ experience in commercial agriculture or customer-facing role desired
    • APICS or IBF certification preferred
    • Logility Demand Planning, or other related statistical forecasting package preferred
    • Working knowledge of SAP
    • Experience working cooperatively across multiple organizations and geographies to identify and resolve system, process, financial and other issues
    • Excellent organizational, communication collaborative and interpersonal skills
    • Strong MS office skills, particularly Excel
    • Demonstrated sound decision making, problem solving, and ability to react quickly under pressure
    • Ability to interact effectively with multiple functional groups, translating commercial opportunities and threats into useful demand / supply information
    • Demonstrated ability to present and sell ideas, plans, and recommendations through influence, resulting in effective decisions and improved business results
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically about issues, form objective opinions, and make timely decisions
    • Results driven, self-starter capable of executing improvement initiatives
